LONDON - Acerinox's stainless steel plant in southern Spain returned to normal working in the early hours of May 18 after striking unions ended street blockades which halted melting for almost two weeks.The Campo de Gibraltar mill was among several plants caught up in a pay dispute between local businesses and unions representing lorry drivers and other staff working for subcontractors at the works. Police attempted to clear the blockades before the two sides reached agreement.
