Eggs containing dioxins three to six times above permitted levels have been found on an organic farm in the German region of Nord Rhine Westphalia, reports Die Welt, a German newspaper.The farm in question was closed following routine checks on April 3, and no other holdings appear to have been affected, Frank Seidlitz, agriculture spokesperson for the region, told our sister publication Agra Europe.Yet "thousands" of contaminated eggs are thought to remain at large in supermarkets and household refrigerators in a handful of other German regions, though none are thought to have been exported to another EU member-state, he said.
