Both supporters and opponents of the new Clean Water Act (CWA) pesticide permitting requirements say a new effort to end the permitting requirements through the 2012 Farm Bill is one of the biggest federal pesticide issues they are focusing on in the second half of the year. On July 12, the House Agriculture Committee voted 35-11 to pass the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management (FARRM) Act (HR 6083) with language that would end the new CWA pesticide permitting requirements.
