Filled and completely enclosed hose bags with riders (2) are manufactured continuously from an endless and weldable plastics foil formed in a half hose. The riders are made from a paper or plastics strip formed in a half hose and are fastened to the half hose forming the bags during filling of the bags. The open ends of the bags half hose are guided between synchronously moving open ends of the riders half hose and are attached to them by glueing. Thereafter the open ends of the bags and riders are welded together. The bags are filled with goods through their side or open top end during or after welding together the open ends. Ultimately the filled bags are closed and separated together with the riders from the half hose forming the bags.
