The restrictions imposed by the Turkish government on the import, trade and transport of ammonium nitrate and CAN are reflected in the latest import statistics for urea. Imports of prilled and granular urea from January through August were up close to 46% on the prior year to 1.55 million mt, with Russia again in the lead at 410,000 mt and Egypt up to 363,000 mt from 2,000 mt on greater availability and competitive pricing.
