US: DAP/MAP exports slashed in January

January was a miserable month for US DAP/MAP exports, which added to the gap seen in offshore movement since the start of the US fertilizer year seven months earlier, according to data provided by The Fertilizer Institute. January DAP/MAP exports were 113,195 st (102,690 mt) P2O5, down from 171,649 st (155,719 mt) P2O5 in January 2015. The losses in the month's business were spread across much of the marketplace. Shipment's to Canada fell to 13,577 st from 30,598 st over the relevant months. In addition exports to Mexico fell to 5,058 st P2O5 from 17,403 st P2O5, while exports to Guatemala collapsed to 2,630 st P2O5 from 10,937 st P2O5.
