Lack of spot tonnes keeps market balanced

Sulphur markets continued their recent stretch of relatively stable pricing, as limited spot availability offset relatively weak demand. Middle East prices were firm at $80-85/mt FOB, as there was almost no availability and the only reported offer level was $85/mt FOB. Market participants are awaiting next week’s Tasweeq tender, which some expect to come above $85/mt, for firmer indications. IGCC’s latest tender was reportedly awarded in the $80s/mt FOB.
