India’s potash inventories are continuing to decrease in the lead-up to 2016-17 contract negotiations although demand in the country is not expected to strengthen until May. Inventories are now estimated at 1.5 million mt. Last week, they were reported to be 1.5-1.8 million mt. This will fall further when MOP demand rises in May, in line with the start of NPK/NPKs production and buying from farmers for their Kharif season requirements.
