UAN prices fall globally; sales tender is scrapped

Soft demand and lower prices led to the scrapping of Abu Qir's April 20 tender. Egypt's Abu Qir is currently looking to sell the UAN tonnages from the scrapped April 20 tender via negotiations with buyers, and some traders are seeking freight cover for possible purchases. Bids and counters in the most recent session were indicative of netbacks to the Egyptian producers at $163-170/mt FOB, but the high reflects the prodeucer's ideas more than those of potential buyers. EuroChem will be shipping around 100,000 mt UAN-32 to the US from the Black Sea in April and May. Some of the tonnage remains unsold. The most recent deal was done last week, providing a netback around $170/mt FOB.
