Agrium reports increased Q4 net earnings

Agrium reported its fourth-quarter results and 2016 market outlook, highlighting the second-highest adjusted net earnings on record for the quarter at $209 million, according to a company statement. The Canadian producer?s Q4 net earnings were $200 million, equivalent to $1.45 diluted earnings per share. This was up from Q4 2014 net earnings of $70 million ($0.46 diluted earnings per share). Agrium attributed the increase to a strong wholesale business unit performance that reduced production cost and saw higher overall sales volumes for potash, nitrogen and phosphates.
