India: Some MOP importers still waiting for demand

Some Indian potash importers are still waiting for domestic demand to improve before they purchase volumes from international exporters. Contrary to market participants’ previous assumptions, India’s Department of Fertilizers (DoF) is now expected by many sources to maintain the current maximum retail price (MRP) of MOP of RMB 11,000 ($165)/mt because importers are reportedly offering discounts of up to to INR 2,000/m in an attempt to increase domestic sales.
