A sale of Chinese caprolactam grade AS has been made into Brazil at $135/mt CFR, following weeks of enquiries. Overall sales in the country are slow due to domestic economic concerns. Safrinha corn prospects in Brazil continue to wither. Some private consultants estimate yields in Goias state to be 40% lower than initial expectations, while yields in Mato Grosso are expected to be 17% lower. Production shortfalls will continue to add support to domestic corn prices, which have already increased sharply through 2016.
