UAN values fall further on latest Abu Qir activity

Little business has been fixed owing to scarce interest in prompt tonnes and few forward deals. UAN values have been amended lower on Abu Qir’s latest 3,300 mt sale to Helm in the high $180s/mt CFR for a receiver in Southern Europe. Black Sea and Baltic FOB indices were moved down on an indicative basis due to a mix of current and forward values in France down to ?190/mt FCA, plus recent CFR estimates to the US East Coast. Further deterioration in prices in expected and is likely to be demonstrated in Abu Qir’s tender UAN- 32 tender for min/max 25,000 mt for prompt shipment in one lot closing April 28. Expectations for US summer fill pricing equate to no better than $220/st FOB New Orleans, but no programs had been released by US producers at press time.
