Tight availability of spot cargoes in Asia continued to offer a price resurgence, but relatively weak demand in some regions combined with lower sulphur prices to limit hopes for higher values. Major exporters from Japan and South Korea were said to be fully committed until September, causing price ideas from India to continue increasing given prompt West Coast demand. PPL reportedly scrapped a tender recently having received offers from the low $20s/mt to the high $40s/mt CFR.
