China: Port wholesale prices drop as inventories rise

The mainstream prices for Russian red standard MOP in China decreased by RMB 20-40 ($3-6)/mt to RMB 1,980-2,030 ($302-310/mt) FCA after the New Year. The high end white 62% K2O product was mainly traded at around RMB 2,200 ($336)/mt FCA at port. Both prices are inclusive of a 1% import tax, port charges and the 13% VAT. QSL Potash, the largest subsidiary of QSL Group, reportedly produced 4.35 million mt of MOP in 2015, which may bring the company’s total 2015 production to 5.2 million mt, according to Fertilizer Week estimates.
