As negotiations over the new Chinese potash contract continue, sources report that suppliers to Southeast Asia are willing to make concessions in sales prices in order to avoid losing market share. Prices of MOP in Malaysia are still seen at around $210-220/mt CFR, but some market participants say that they expect further decreases in the country as well as others in Southeast Asia in the third quarter.
