The Asian sulphuric acid market was reported as more balanced this week, while Europe firmed further. Overall, the immediate outlook for European prices remained more positive, while many believed that Asian sellers could at best maintain current levels. European spot prices for sulphuric acid exports were assessed slightly higher at $0-10/mt FOB from $0-5/mt FOB as many suppliers were seemingly sold out, with some suggesting that they were fully committed on contracts and were not considering spot activity. A range of turnarounds is likely to keep the market balanced through much of the second quarter.
