Korea Zinc is planning a turnaround for May possibly into June, but has not yet finalised plans with its plant. If the turnaround goes ahead, it will further tighten availability in the Asian sulphuric acid market. As previously reported, Mitsubishi’s Naoshima smelter and LS Nikko’s Onsan smelter are currently under maintenance. In addition, Toho Zinc’s Onahama smelter is reportedly also in a turnaround.
