New Zealand imports record levels of potash

New Zealand's annual potash imports reached a record during 2014, according to GTIS data, after it brought in 259,482 mt of MOP, an 82% increase on 2013. The country imported 171,227 mt from Canpotex, which although an increase from 113,418 mt in 2013, actually represents a fall in market share to 66% from 80%. BPC increased its market share to 21% from 16% after sending 55,697 mt and Uralkali sent its first shipments to New Zealand since 2005. The country imported 30,000 mt from the Russian producer, representing a 12% market share.
