Carr's completes disposal of fertilizer business

CARR'S MILLING Industries last week completed the disposal of its Carrs Fertilisers business unit to Origin Fertilisers (UK) Limited, following shareholder approval and the waiving by Carr's of the condition relating to the UK's Finance (No 3) Bill 2010/2011. The agreement reached between Carr's and Origin in June for the disposal of Carrs Fertilisers was, among other factors, conditional upon the passing of the Finance (No 3) Bill 2010/2011 without modification from its present form, and which had been anticipated to take place this July. But given that the bill currently remains in the same form as on June 20 when the two companies reached their agreement and is expected to be passed in its present form and to receive Royal Assent before the end of July, Carr's said,
