Indian firm GAIL hopes to renegotiate a 20-year, 2.5 mtpa LNG purchase deal with Russian giant Gazprom in the wake of low commodities prices and weaker-than-expected domestic demand, according to local news reports that GAIL posted on its website. GAIL reportedly wants to adjust the price of LNG purchases and postpone the start of deliveries beyond the present date range of 2018 and 2019.
