BP focuses on raff inate splitter as root of deadly explosion

Investigators of the deadly explosion at BP's Texas City refinery are focusing on the raffinate splitter within the refinery's isomerisation unit,the US Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board(CSB)has revealed.Fifteen contract workers lost their lives and 100 others were sent to hospital in the explosion and subsequent fire that took place on 23 March at BP's 1200-acre plant south of Houston,Texas,US.
