BHP’s Trinidad gas discovery

Australia’s BHP Petroleum has made a gas dis- covery on the deepwater LeClerc prospect off- shore Trinidad and Tobago. BHP had been drilling for oil in the LeClerc 1 ST01 well, which lies in Block 5 at a water depth of 8,203-27,889m (2,500-8,500ft). The well is located 217km off the east coast of Trinidad and was drilled using the Transocean Deepwater Invictus drillship.
