Kazakhstan’s state player KazMunaiGas (KMG) plans to sell a 50% stake in KMG Kashagan to Samruk-Kazyna for US $4.7 Bn, according to reports. “KMG has announced its intention to sell half of KMG Kashagan, which holds a 16.88% stake in Kashagan, to Samruk-Kazyna, its immediate parent, for around $4.7 Bn in cash and to use the cash proceeds to repay a portion of its debt.
