Cepsa to buy Coastal for $2.2 Bn

Spain’s Cepsa has agreed to acquire Canada’s Coastal Energy for around US $2.20 Bn, including taking on $48.9m of debt. Toronto-listed Coastal, which has a focus on Thailand and Malaysia, said it had entered into a definitive merger agreement which would see Cepsa acquire all of its issued and outstanding shares for a cash price of $18.2 per common share.
