Cairn Energy has taken over Agora Oil & Gas in a deal worth US $450m. Agora is a private Norwegian company with non- operated exploration, appraisal and development assets in the UK and Norwegian North Sea. It is currently owned by RIT Capital Partners and Lord Rothschild's family interests, along with manage- ment. The deal is subject to consent from the relevant regulatory authorities in the UK and Norway.
