Statoil pipes shale gas to Canada

Statoil has agreed a deal for the transportation of gas through a pipeline from the Northern Marcellus shale gas area in Pennsylvania to Niagara on the US-Canadian border. The company said it had concluded a trans- portation agreement with National Fuel Gas Supply Corporation, securing Statoil the right to transport up to 113 Bcf/year (3.2 Bcm/year) of gas through an interstate pipeline.
