Santos close to Gladstone sale

Australia’s Santos is close to sealing a US $1.75 Bn deal with Shell for the sale of a 30-35% stake in the Gladstone coalbed methane to LNG project, according to reports. Shell is reportedly competing with Asian duo Korea Gas and Sinopec for the equity. Santos said it remains in “detailed ongoing discussions with a number of parties in relation to potential LNG sales, equity in the project and collaboration”.
