UK York development plan

Centrica has applied to the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change for the go-ahead to develop its York gas fields in the Southern North Sea. The move comes after Centrica earlier this year acquired an additional 67% share in the North Sea gas development from Hess in a deal worth US $36m. The deal added to the 23% of the development acquired as part of the Rough gas storage acquisition in 2003, and took Centrica's interest in the fields to 90%.
