State-owned China National Offshore Oil Corp Ltd (CNOOC Ltd) has made a "significant" oil discovery in Bohai Bay offshore northeast China and expects to develop it "into a large oil field".Three shallow-water wells were drilled at the Jinzhou 25-1 field, hitting oil and gas horizons ranging in thickness from 54-261ft (177-856m), the state operator said in its half-year results.
