ENSCO's 385m semi order

ENSCO International has ordered a newbuild ultra-deepwater semisub expected to cost around US 385m, to be delivered by the fourth quarter of 2009, although it does not yet have a firm contract in place for it.The US driller has entered into an agreement with Keppel FELS of Singapore to construct the rig, to be named ENSCO 8502. The rig will be the company's third semisub in the 8500 Series?, and its fourth deepwater semisub, joining the ENSCO 7500 (delivered in 2000), and the ENSCO 8500 and ENSCO 8501. The latter two units are expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2008 and first quarter of 2009, respectively, and are both committed under long-term deals.
