Last year's Paris climate goals could be achieved but it would require new measures and a much faster transformation than seen so far to drive a low - carbon economy, Statoil said Thursday. Statoil and a number of its European peers, including France's Total, Italy's Eni and Royal Dutch Shell, have all, to a varying degree, pledged to play a much bigger role in renewable energy development to cut carbon emissions ( NE Jun.2'16 ).
