Victoria Nabs Glencore Block in Cameroon

UK-listed Victoria Oil & Gas (VOG) is acquiring a 75% operating stake in the Matanda Block in Cameroon from commodity giant Glencore, which is quitting the coastal acreage after drilling one appraisal well. Existing, undeveloped discoveries on the block have showed natural gas and small volumes of condensate, and VOG is looking to tap the North Matanda field to supplement reserves at the nearby Logbaba field, from which VOG supplies gas customers in the port city of Douala (IOD Jan.29'16).
