Russia returned to the top of the pile among China's crude oil suppliers in August, edging out Opec kingpin Saudi Arabia and July victor Angola in terms of shipments to one of the world's most coveted oil markets, Chinese customs data showed Thursday. Russian crude exports to China spiked by 366,000 barrels per day -- or 50% -- from last year to 1.1 million b/d in August, despite what appeared to be relatively muted Chinese demand for August - loading East Siberia - Pacific Ocean (Espo) crude, Russia's largest export stream in the Asia - Pacific region.
