China Rig Busy in South China Sea

China's sole deepwater rig, Hai Yang Shi You 981, has spudded the Lingshui 25-1-2 well in the South China Sea and it will take around two months to drill, China's Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) said Tuesday. The drill site is located 72 nautical miles southeast of Sanya on China's Hainan Island, according to the MSA.
