Following a record collapse earlier this year, strongly rebounding Asian LNG spot prices have sparked trading interest in storage plays designed to capitalize on the region's seasonal winter price rally. Asian end - users say they started receiving offers in early August for floating Atlantic Basin cargoes deferred for sale into the Pacific over the winter months between December and February. However, since then, the number of firm and tentative offers has risen to include both Atlantic and possibly Pacific cargoes. Buying interest has been tepid due to cost and the increased operational risks involved, but growing spot supply uncertainty for the forward November spot trading month has provided some food for thought.
