Egypt Makes Aggressive Pitch to IOCs to Help Sustain Oil Output

In an effort to sustain oil production at levels just under 700,000 barrels per day, Egypt is aggressively pushing international oil companies to explore new territory. Central to this effort is attracting companies to bid on open acreage being offered through licensing rounds by state-owned Egyptian General Petroleum Corp. (EGPC), the latest of which will close the first week of July.
