Gazprom May Be Mulling Share Buyback

Russian media reported on Friday that Gazprom might buy back shares in an attempt to increase market capitalization. Gazprom, however, refused to comment on the reports. Until now, Gazprom has never exercised its right to buybacks, although its current market cap is $101 billion, almost three times lower than its historic maximum of around $360 billion in May 2008.
