Eland Eyes Majors' Nigeria Assets But Wary of Prices

UK-listed independent Eland Oil & Gas said it is interested in acquiring acreage put up for sale in Nigeria by Chevron and Royal Dutch Shell but prices being touted are too high. Les Blair, chief executive of Eland, told International Oil Daily on the sidelines of the Global Energy conference in London on Monday: "We are interested but we are not going to overpay. Some of the prices that are being talked about are not prices we are willing to pay. We are interested in acquiring more assets but we are not interested in acquiring an asset that will bring down the company."
