UK independent Mediterranean Oil and Gas (MOG) has awarded Norway’s AGR a drilling contract for the Hagar Qim 1-well in Area 4 offshore Malta. AGR is planning to start drilling by the end of this year. MOG has also received clearance from the UK’s HM Revenue and Customs for its deal to transfer a 75% controlling stake in its permit to Anglo-Turkish Genel Energy for a $10 million cash payment. Genel will contribute towards 100% of the costs of a first exploratory well and $30 million on a second planned well (IOD Dec.26’12).
