Iran’s oil ministry has issued an ultimatum to the country’s airlines demanding they pay debts for jet fuel worth 6,000 billion-7,000 billion rial ($488 million) or face being sent to the “authorities.” “If in these debts are not paid in the near future the competitive authorities will be handling this issue,” said Deputy Oil Minister Alireza Zeighami. He also complained of the unwillingness of airline management to attend meetings to address their financial problems.
