Edison Starts Arbitration With Gazprom Over Prices

EDF-owned energy company Edison has become the latest European firm to initiate an arbitration procedure in order to win gas price reductions from Russian state natural gas giant Gazprom. Italian Edison said it had started two arbitration procedures -- one with Gazprom and another one with Italy's Eni -- in order "to obtain a price reduction consistent with gas price on the market." Gazprom has confirmed that it is aware of the arbitration case initiated against its subsidiary Promgas.
