The Kazakh government has increased the export tax on crude oil by 50% to $60 per metric ton ($8.19/bbl), as it tries to curb soaring domestic oil product prices and boost budget revenue. Astana says the higher levy will come into force on Apr. 13 after a government resolution was passed Wednesday.
