KRG Players Among Those Prequalified for Iraq's Nasiryah Project

Iraq's ministry of oil has prequalified six companies and one consortium to participate in its bidding round for the Nasiriyah integrated project, which aims to facilitate the development of the 4 billion barrel plus Nasiriyah field, and a new 300,000 barrels per day refinery alongside it. But only three firms are pursuing the integrated development -- Russia's state overseas oil producer Zarubezhneft, India's Reliance and Japan's JGC with Tonen General -- while the remaining four are listed as considering only the downstream half of the project. They are: State China National Petroleum Corp., US Brown Energy, Russia's Lukoil and France's Total.
