Iraq prequalifies contractors for new export pipeline to Jordan

Amman—Iraq has completed the prequalification process for companies interested in building a new crude pipeline to Jordan to diversify its oil export routes, the federal oil ministry said. The oil pipeline from the Rumaila field near Basrah to Aqaba in Jordan has been the subject of negotiations between the two governments for years, but a new agreement on the route was signed between the countries in February this year.
