Russia's regional producer Bashneft says it will address violations spotted by the country's environmental watchdog at the strategic Trebs and Titov oil fields in the Timan-Pechora region, where production is scheduled to start later this year. According to Bashneft head Alexander Korsik, Bashneft should within a year carry out works to eliminate the license violations detected by environmental watchdog Rosprirodnadzor at the fields, which it develops with top independent Lukoil. Rosprirodnadzor earlier recommended that Rosnedra, the subsoil agency of the natural resources ministry, should either terminate or withdraw the license to the 1 billion-plus bbl Trebs and Titov fields if the violations were not eliminated.
