Bolivia to Launch Bid Round

Bolivia, which has found it difficult to attract foreign investment in its gas fields since it largely nationalized the upstream sector in 2006, hopes to reverse that situation with a new bid round later this year. Carlos Villegas, head of state gas firm Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), told the Latin Oil Week conference in Rio de Janeiro this week that Bolivia will offer up 15 blocks.
