Sinopec Plans First Shale Output

State Sinopec will start commercial production at its first shale gas project in the Fuling district, southeast of the Sichuan Basin this year, according to the state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Tuesday. Sinopec is targeting production of 300 MMcm-500 MMcm/yr (29 MMcf-48 MMcf/d) by end-2012 and 1 Bcm/yr in 2013.
