BP Sees Greater Potential for Block 61 Gas Output in Oman

Oman’s Block 61 has the potential to deliver two to three times the 1 billion cubic feet per day of nonassociated gas currently under consideration by BP, the company’s manager in the country told a conference in Muscat on Tuesday. BP is currently conducting an enhanced well test on what it is now saying could be the first phase of development in the block. The current Kazzan play — on which BP will make a final investment decision in 2013 — would develop about 7 trillion-8 trillion cubic feet of the estimated 90 Tcf- 100 Tcf of nonassociated gas in place.
