Senex Eyes Unconventional Gas

Australian minnow Senex Energy spudded the first of three wells last week in its exploration campaign for unconventional gas on the southern edge of the South Australian Cooper Basin. The company is exploring the potential of the shales, tight sands and coals in the PEL 516 permit, in which it holds a 100% stake, after an exploration well on the permit last June — and drilling by other operators in the area — showed the region has “the potential to contain a world class unconventional gas resource,” managing director Ian Davies said in a statement.
